Just as fashion as evolved over the years, the Nigerian fashion is not left behind, and the oleku attire is one of those “never die “outfit.
The oleku attire
belongs to the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria, the attire dates back to the 80s, it
was worn as an ordinary attire then, no real significance to the 2 piece outfit
which include the buba kekere (small blouse) and iro kekere (small wrappers).
Recently the oleku
attire gained grounds again in the fashion industry as many people used it to
make various fashion statements, the short buba and iro could pass on the
massage of freedom, uniqueness, independence, and many more. The style is loved for the comfort it gives, and the decent exposure one can show off, this applies
to the show of legs and arms.
