Located in Ago-Awaye,
Oyo state Nigeria lays the only suspended lake in Africa, second of two in the
world. Popularly known as Iya alake this suspended/hanging lake sits on the Oke
Ado mountain in the Awaye town, it is said to be bottomless as anyone who
enters the lake can never come out.
It takes about 600
steps and over an hour to reach the top of the mountain, the prize to all this
work is the beautiful view of the town, various historical attractions because
there are 16 other said gods and artifacts on the mountain and the serenity
that comes along with the hilltop.
To make your journey to the top of the mountain worth the climb, do these things;
* Pack for a picnic,
*Do not pack for
swimming, that should be the last thing on your mind.
*Bring a camera along,
the world has got to know you climbed that mountain.
