Basketball is gradually gaining popularity and acceptance in Nigeria, especially with the success and achievement of the D'Tigress lately. Nigeria women national basketball team are currently African champions including their male counterparts.
Quick fun facts about them;
- They are Nigerian women's national basketball team.
- They are regulated by the Nigeria Basketball Federation and they represent the country at international games.
- They joined the International Basketball Federation popularly known as FIBA in 1964.
- D'Tigeress appeared in the Olympic games once, appeared in the women's world cup twice, Afrobasket Women 11 times and All African games 8 times.
- Their home jersey is the plain white with a touch of green while there away jersey is full green with a touch of white.
