There is a group of spices that are rich and healthy in taste and in nutrients, and ginger is one of them, it is a great vegetable root for soups, foods, and the special ginger bread.
Planting ginger can be
done in a planting pot, container, or a polythene bag; just make sure is big
enough to accommodate the spreading of the ginger during growth.
Asides from the container or
pot, you will need soil, and also fertilizer (optional), water to wet the soil
and chunky fresh ginger ensure this ginger has about 3 budding eyes that’s where
the sprouting will start from.
Planting Process:
To start planting,
empty the soil into the container, pot, or polythene nylon, if you have some fertilizer
or compost, you can add it to the soil and mix it all together. Now right in the middle
of the soil dig a 2 inches deep hole and place your ginger in it sideways, then
cover it up with soil.
Wet the planted, do not
soak the soil, just make it moist; in the next two to three weeks you should
see it sprout, continue to wet it regularly then keep it outside but preferably
under shade, this way the leaves won’t get burnt. You should have a bountiful harvest of ginger in the next six to eight months.
