distinguished style of acting, and prestige in the industry. They are the ones you see staring in a movie and you are excited to watch, Pete Edochie is one of the big names in Nollywood, why?? Let's find out.
Pete Edochie was born
on the 7th of March in the year 1947, as of 2021, the legend is 74
years old and he is still active and popping.
He began his acting career
at a very young age, just as ordinary school boys and girls would act in school
drama, and stage plays, Pete had the same beginning, he would act in his school
plays and others.
Educationally Pete acquired all the necessary education one should have. For his nursery and primary education, he went to St James Primary school Zaria, and for his secondary education he finished off at St John’s College also in Zaria. To further his education, Pete studied Journalism and television in England; this gave him the platform he needed in media getting him a job, and the knowledge he needed in acting.
His major breakthrough
was the famous series Things Fall Apart an adaptation of Chinua Achebe award-winning
novel “Things Fall Apart”. After his big break, Pete Edochie continued to work
harder to keep being relevant. He acted in several movies; starring in over a hundred
movies.
Alongside getting his
career on track, Pete was also getting his personal life developed, he married at an early age, at 22years old. He married his wife Josephine Edochie, the wonderful couple have been married for over 40 years now and they are blessed with 5
children, some of who are in the movie industry also.
Over the years Pete
Edochie has been given several awards both internationally and locally. Aside from awards, he has been nominated multiple times for his outstanding works and
skills.
He might be getting into
retirement but it will be such a delight to have him honour any blockbuster
movie in the coming years.
