Yoruba Deity "Oluorogbo" A Deity Similar to Jesus Christ.

Yoruba Deity "Oluorogbo" a diety similar to Jesus Christ.

According to the Yoruba traditional religion and culture, Olurogbo was the only child of Moremi (a princess and courageous queen who contributed heavily to the war against the Yoruba neighbouring tribes which ended in victory)

Olurogbo was sacrificed to the river goddess Esimirin by his mother. His mother wanted the river goddess to reveal the secret of the neighbouring village's fight tactics against the Yoruba people.
The river goddess accepted her sacrifice of her only son and granted her wish.

Olurogbo being a special child by Olodumare survived the sacrifice and ascended to heaven. He made a rope of grass which he used to climb up to heaven and lived and dine with other Yoruba immortal heroes and gods.

Olurogbo was a selfless deity who offered himself as a sacrificial lamb for the people to bring sanity, unity and peace to humanity.

Olurogbo stands for purity and godliness which is similar to that of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

His festival "Edi Festival" holds annually in Ile-Ife Nigeria.
