Olympic Gold Medal "Chioma Ajunwa" (Long Jumper)


Olympic Gold Medal "Chioma Ajunwa" (Long Jumper) are

01- Chioma Ajunwa was born on 25th of December 1970. She's the last child of nine children from her parents.

02- She has been participating in athletics from a very early age both in primary and secondary school.

03-During her early days in her career, she had to work as a mechanic in order to fund herself at the university, due to her family poor background. 

04- She also played football and was a member of the Falcons team during the Women world cup in 1991.

05- She won a Gold medal for all African Championships in 1989 and also a gold medal in 1991 at the All Africa Games.

06- She also received a National Award,  Member of the Order of Niger (MON) from the late General Sani Abacha.

07- Ajunwa is also the chairperson of the women development committee in Imo State

08- Chioma rose to fame when she won the Olympic gold medal at the Atlanta 1996 which gave her the recognition and legacy she earned today.
