Haruna Ishola, 6 Quick Fact About Him

Nigerians have witnessed a lot of Apala Musicians and we have enjoyed and appreciated their talents. It is also to our understanding that there are only a few of them that left a giant footmark in the music industry, one of them is the Late Apala king, Haruna Ishola. He is widely known for his choice of traditional instruments, most especially the talking drum and his wonderful lyrics. In this article, we look at 6 Quick Facts About Haruna Ishola. 

1)  Legend Haruna Ishola's Full Name is Haruna Ishola Bello. 

2) In as much as we know he is Nigerian, most people believe that as long as you sing Apala, you might as well hail from Kwara state, most especially Ilorin, But Haruna actually hails from Oyo state, he was born in the city of Ibadan. 

3) His talent is said to be hereditary, his father was also an Apala singer, which means he grew up with music and got most of his musical training from home. After his death, his son Musiliu Haruna also took on the music business. 

4) Although his first album failed, it was still the album this gave him a little recognition. he released it in the year 1948 and titled it Late Oba Adeboye, AKA Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo. 

5)  During his musical journey, he joined collaboration with popular Juju artist I K Dairo to create the first African Record Label which they called Star Records Limited. 

6) Before his death which ended his career abruptly, He had made over 100 albums mostly in LPs. most of his songs were heartily welcomed by the public.
