When you slip or fall down in Nigeria, everyone around you screams "Sorry" but in some parts of the world if you say sorry, they respond, "why are you saying sorry, it was not your fault".
In Nigeria we ask, "How was your night?" but in the UK and other parts of the world they believe that question has a se.xual undertone. A lot of people prefer you ask, "Did you sleep alright?"As I get older, I have come to realize our perception about situations
are different. We might be from the same state but have different outlooks to
life. We might have shared a womb but have different perceptions about various
things such as: Food, housing style, fashion, career or business, family
orientation etc. Perception as we know it, is the way in which something is
understood and further interpreted.
My perception about giving a guy my number is he might want to ask
for advice, want to be friends, or maybe just want the usual connections so I
usually do not hold back only if I am skeptical. But a lot of people see it
differently. Some think one is cheap; some think one is being too friendly;
others think one has ulterior motives. Either ways, it is all our different
perception about the situation. The most important thing is to respect
everyone's opinion and perception to the best of one's ability.
