Is it just me or five minutes nap hits different? I mean, you know all those days you are knackered, and your body feels like if you do not close your eyes for at least five minutes, you might drop dead.
Well...those types of short naps are called Emergency Napping when
your body requires a recess. Studies shows it is good to take such naps and if possible,
increase it to about twenty or thirty minutes because it helps the body
increase alertness and helps improve productivity. It helps with rejuvenation
and relaxation; I can say my best emergency naps are in the office around 2 pm
thereabout. When the sun is out and everywhere seems a bit gloomy. I just shut
my eyes and rest my head on the table and snooze!
It is not advisable to make the naps too long as well because that
can cause sleep inertia. Anyways, next time you are feeling a bit giddy. I
think it is time to snooze for a short while and get your mojo back.
