Kola Oyewo, Mini Bio

 

There are many iconic veteran actors in the Nigerian Movie and Kola Oyewo is one of them, his personality in most of his feature movies depicts a more gentle person who passionately translates or interprets his character on set. Here is a mini bio of Kola Oyewo.

Kola Oyewo was born on the 27^th of March in the year 1946, the veteran is 75 years of age in 2021, he was able to acquire western education from primary to secondary school. 

The actor expresses his academic ambition as he did not just acquire a Bachelor’s degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, but a Masters degree from the University of Ibadan and a Ph.D. from Obafemi Awolowo University again, he majored in Theater Arts through it is believed that this is where his passion for stage and film drama initiated from.

Dr Kola began acting in the year 196, it came to be that the theater group “Oyin Adejobi” his first feature was in the autobiography of his mentor Oyin Adejobi, where he played the role of Adejare.

After about nine years under tutelage, kola set out into the industry fully, he began to feature in more movies and found his own breakthrough, on a movie that gave him his big break was in Ola Rotimi’s literature abstract movie, “ the God’s are not to blame “ Dr. Kola went on to feature in over fifty movies after this role.

Even with career fame, Kola’s academic ambition was not dimed, asides from being a celebrity in the movie industry, Kola Oyewo lectured in a few government educational institutions and when he had to retire he continued to lecture in other private educational institutions; this way he was able to impact knowledge into the younger generations.

Dr Kola Oyewo is blissfully married and the marriage is blessed with children. The actor does not seem to appear in recent movies these days and it will be such a delight to watch him the latest blockbuster again.
