Alade Hu Iwo Lori

 
There lived a gentleman called Alade who had a mutual friend.

Alade had a secret that he didn't tell anyone. The secret resided under his cap. One day his close friend decided to question Alade why he always wore his cap both in private and in public places all the time.

After much pressure, Alade decided to share his secret with his friend on one condition, that he should not reveal the secret to anyone. He then removed his cap to reveal a short stumpy horn around the frontal part of his head. His friend was shocked and promised not to reveal what he saw to anyone. However, the friend could not stomach the secret, the secret was bugging him so much that he decided to let it out. Although he wanted to say it out, however, not to no one. Therefore, he dug a hole deep in the forest into which he screamed "Àlàdé hù 'wo" (Àlàdé has grown a horn on his head). After this, a tree sprang from the hole and soon after, it started to sing "Àlàdé hù 'wo" "Àlàdé hù 'wo" and it would blast the same tune whenever anyone blew a flute near it.

Through this, the entire village got to know about Alade's best-kept secret. One would have thought Alade's friend did keep his secret somewhat safe but somehow, the entire village eventually heard it.

Poor Alade!
