The Real Truth About Olu Jacobs.

Recently the truth about the respected Olu Jacobs's current health condition made it to the public, and many began to take time to acknowledge his works in the movie industry, evaluate his lifestyles, and pay close attention to his past life choices. 

It is so sad that we have to experience the once so vibrant pacesetter in the African movie industry, slowly shink into the shadow of himself. Olu Jacobs had maintained the waves he made during the 70s for the past 5-6 decades, this is more like keeping a particular song at the top of the Billboard chart for years. It is easy to assume we know him enough as we grew up watching him on our screens, acting the spectacular roles, but to our shock, we only know a fragment of tho he really is. In this article, we get to familiarize ourselves with how he really is.

Olu Jacobs full name is Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs

He was born on the 11th of July in the year 1942, as of the time of writing this article, the legend is 79 years of age. 

Although he hails from his town of birth (Abeokuta), he grew up in the Northern part of Nigeria especially in the Kano state, this made him linguistically vast in the Nigerian indigenous language. 

Olu completed his secondary school at Holy Trinity School and got trained in acting at Royal Academy For Dramatic Art, London England. 

The legend went ahead to feature in different movies after his training, he likewise featured in a lot of International movies at the early part of his career. 

The list of international  movies Olu Jacobs featured in are: 

  • The Dogs of War, in the year 1980.
  • Roman Polanski’s adventure-comedy Pirates, in the year 1986
  • Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend, in the year 1985.
  • He also featured in the 1983 Television Series,  The Witches, and the Grinnygog.

He already attained success in the Britain movie industry, as he had already joined the National Theatre of Great Britain. 

In as much as he excelled overseas, the icon decided to move back to Nigeria in the year 1960, bringing his skills and experience to the Nigerian movie industry.

 

While at home Olu Jacobs has starred in about130 movies in Nollywood most of which has won him the accolades he rightly deserved during and even after his active years.

Of recent Olu Jacobs's wife, the equally legendary Joke Silva, came out to disclose that her husband is going through some health challenges most especially with Dementia and Lewy body. 

In as much as his diagnosis is incurable, we hope that he finds the help, peace, and love that he needs at this time of his life.
